Annette Meehan

Annette (Pisanelli) Meehan age 92 years died in her Gorham, Maine home on Friday, December 3, 2010. Born in New York City, New York on March 10, 1918; she was the daughter of the late Louis and Dorothy (Avalon) Pisanelli. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in Fortnum, New York in 1936. She went on to attend the Good Counsel School in New York and graduated with the class of 1940. She has been a resident of Gorham, Maine for the past 5 years moving there from Walpole, Massachusetts.

She was an elementary school teacher for 20 years, working at the Fisher Elementary School in Walpole, Massachusetts. Prior to becoming a teacher she was a chemist at the Carbide and Carbon Company in New York.

Mrs. Meehan was a past Girl Scout Troop Leader in Connecticut. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and was a avid sports fan.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Meehan. Loving mother of Dorothy A. Dorr of Gorham, Maine and Alice J. Rose of York, Maine. Cherished grandmother of Nicholas J. Howard of Seabrook, New Hampshire and Emily J. Rose of York, Maine.

The family would like to thank the Home Instead Senior Care Organization of Gorham, Maine for all of their help over the past 5 years.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday from 11AM to 1 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1PM. Interment is in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
