Anne M. Hennessey

Anne M. Hennessey, age 95, passed away peacefully in the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Born in Walpole, Massachusetts on December 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Sarah Anne (Mullaney) Hennessey. As a lifelong resident of Walpole, Anne graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1939. After graduation, she worked various jobs in and around town.

In the early 1940s, Anne graduated from the Concord Hospital School of Nursing, earning her LPN certificate. She took a position as an office nurse in Dr. Brooks' office in Wrentham and later worked at the Maple Grove Nursing Home. Anne retired from the Wrentham State School in 1986, after many years of dedicated service.

Anne loved spending time outdoors, a trait which she learned from her grandfather at a young age. She could always be found outside caring for her yard, up until just a few years ago. Family meant everything to Anne, she and her sister, Rose, regularly drove to Bath, Maine to visit her brother Bill and to see her nieces and nephews.

Loving sister of the late William J. Hennessey, the late Rita Hennessey Holman, the late Rose E. Hennessey, and the late Mary Genevieve Hennessey.
Also survived by many generations of nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 11-11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Blessed Sacrament School, 808 East Street, Walpole, MA 02081.
