Anna Marie (Saraca) Silvi, age 98, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 in Maplewood at Mayflower Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Born in her family's home in Walpole, Massachusetts on October 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Oreste and Rose (Purcelli) Saraca. She was raised in Walpole, where she graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1940. Following her graduation, Anna took a position with the Bird Box Shop in East Walpole.
Anna married her beloved husband, Domenic Peter Silvi, on April 4, 1942 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Together they made their home in Walpole, where Anna took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her five children, Domenic, Roberta, Paul, David, and Geraldine. As a devoted wife and mother, Anna loved spending time in her kitchen, preparing meals for her family to enjoy. Many meals included vegetables from her garden that she spent countless hours cultivating. Every autumn, Anna harvested her garden one final time, canning her vegetables with the help of her mother. When she wasn't busy in her kitchen or garden, Anna enjoyed playing cards with her friends or some quiet time, making braided rugs.
