Anna Cecelia Fahey

Anna Cecelia Fahey age 88 years died in the Brigham & Woman's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts on Wednesday, April 12, 2011. Born in Iona, Nova Scotia, Canada on October 14, 1922; she was the daughter of the late Allan A. and Sarah (MacNeil) MacNeil. She has been a resident of Norfolk, Massachusetts for the past 35 years moving there from Arlington, Massachusetts.

She was an LPN for 50 years, working at various hospitals in Massachusetts including, the Massachusetts General Hospital, Norwood Hospital, Mount Auburn Hospital, and the Sancta Maria Hospital. She continued working as a private care nurse into her 70's.

Mrs. Fahey was an avid card player and enjoyed playing bingo every week. She was a devoted fan of both the Red Sox and the Bruins. She traveled to Nova Scotia to visit her family often, and enjoyed making the trip with her dog. She also enjoyed going to the beach, baking, dancing, and her garden. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She was very devoted to her church, Saint Jude's, in Norfolk. She attended Mass daily and served as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing Communion to the area nursing homes.

Beloved wife of Patrick J. Fahey. Loving sister of Frances MacLennan, Lucille MacKenzie, and Murdoch MacNeil all of Nova Scotia, Canada, the late Mary Fitzgerald, Elizabeth Driscoll, Joseph MacNeil, and Stanley MacNeil. Also survived by many adoring nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Jude's Church 86 Main Street Norfolk on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, April 15, 2011 from 3-7PM at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in the Norfolk Cemetery.
