Ann Alice Erker

Mrs. Ann Alice (Folan) Erker age 90 years died in her Walpole home on Monday, March 31, 2008. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts to her parents James P. & Mary (Flaherty) Folan, she graduated from Norwood High School with the class of 1936. She later graduated from the Brockton School of Beauty in 1960. She had been living in Walpole since 1949 coming from Norwood.

She opened her own beauty shop in 1960, and later became an inspector for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration for Hairdressers. Then later, she worked for Macy's Department Store in Accounts Payable, retiring in 1991.

She was a founding member of the Walpole Council on Aging, a member of the Norwood Business and Professional Womens Club, and a Representitive Town Meeting Member.

She was an avid card player, a horse racing fan, loved reading, cooking, and travel, but especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchild & great grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Walter E. Erker. Loving mother of Walter E. and his wife Nancy Erker of CA, James R. Erker of E. Walpole, and Mary A. Kream and partner Joseph Mollomo of Walpole. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer A. Ormond and her husband Donald of Quincy, and great grandmother of DJ Ormond, Shaun Ormond, Julia Ormond, and Maxwell Ormond all of Quincy. Pre deceased by 7 brothers and sisters. Sister in law of Elinor Erker of Walpole, Frank Erker of Walpole, Thomas Coyne of Walpole, and Pauline Erker of Norwood. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday, April 2, 2008 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment Saint Francis Cemetery.
