Andrew V. Lamonica

Andrew V. Lamonica age 76 years died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Monday, February 11, 2013. Born in Norwood on October 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Prospra) Lamonica. He graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1955. After graduating, Mr. Lamonica proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He has been a lifelong resident of Walpole, Massachusetts.

He worked for the Walpole Department of Public Works on the Highway Department for over 30 years, retiring in 1999.

Mr. Lamonica was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Italian American Club in Walpole.

Prior to losing his eye sight, he enjoyed playing Bocce at the IA Club, bowling with the DPW League, reading the paper, tending to his vegetable garden, and watching the New England sports teams. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Karen A. (Hansen) Lamonica. Loving father of Robert A. Lamonica of Walpole, Lisa M. Peterson of Upton, and Eric M. Lamonica of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Bethany and Kendra Peterson of Upton and Michaela Lamonica of Walpole. Brother of Carol Dodge of Attleboro and James Lamonica of Norton. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, February 15, 2013 from 4-7PM at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. Memorial donations may be made to: Perkins School for the Blind, Perkins Trust Office, 175 North Beacon Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
