Amy Elizabeth Sullivan

December 16, 1979 — April 8, 2022

Amy Elizabeth Sullivan, age 42, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, at her home in Walpole, Massachusetts.  Born in Torreon, Mexico on December 16, 1979, she was the daughter of P. David and Patricia Frances (Murphy) Sullivan.  She was raised in Norwood, Massachusetts and graduated from the Stoughton Academy in 2004.

Following her graduation, Amy's love for animals led her to take a position as a dog groomer at Twickenton in Dedham and later at Petco in Norwood.  After several years working with dogs, Amy returned to her education, taking courses to earn her Certified Nursing Assistant's Certificate.  With her certificate in hand, Amy took a position with Sunrise Assisted Living in Norwood, where she proudly served as a CNA.  She loved helping others and always made sure her patients received wonderful care. While Amy found a great reward in helping others, her true passion was for animals, rescuing several throughout her life.

Throughout her life, Amy loved nature and spending time outdoors, especially on camping adventures.  She enjoyed a good thunderstorm as it rolled in and spent countless hours with her best friend, Holly, at her family's lake home in Barrington, New Hampshire.  While at the lake home, Amy looked forward to casting a fishing line into the water to try her luck, while reveling in the beauty around her.  When she wasn’t spending time outdoors, Amy continued trying her luck at area casinos.  More than anything, Amy was dedicated to her family and was so proud to be a Mom.  She and her daughter, Shakura, spent many nights listening to music, enjoying each other’s company.

Loving mother of Shakura Monique Sullivan and her partner, Kiara-Rose Sales, of Norwood.

Devoted daughter of Patricia Frances (Murphy) Sullivan of Norwood and the late P. David Sullivan.

Cherished sister of Brian D. Sullivan and his wife, Kristin, of Hamilton, New Jersey and Erin Randall and her husband, John, of Norwood.

Treasured best friend of Holly Sturtevant-Henriquez of Dorchester.
