Mr. Alvin S. Mullen, Jr. age 86 years died in the Sunrise Assisted Living in Norwood, Massachusetts on Sunday Evening, March 2nd, 2008. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts on January 7th, 1922, to his parents the late Alvin S. and Rose (McDermott) Mullen
He was raised in Fall River, and graduated from Durfee High School with the class of 1940. Entered the Merchant Marines and served his country during World War II. A resident of Walpole since 1962 moving here from Dedham/Roslindale area.
A retired Technician for the Raytheon Corporation in the Waltham Plant. He worked with power tube division for over 30 years. a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker, Local 1505 in Waltham.
He was an avid golfer and a member of the Power Tube Golf League. He claimed to be the only member that played in the league in 5 different decades. He also enjoyed bowling.
He was very active in the Durfee Alumni Group and served on many different committees and offices.

Beloved husband of Thelma R. (MacDonald) Mullen. Loving father of Gordon F. Mullen , Alvin S. and his wife Ann (Kelly) Mullen, III all of Walpole and Robert N. Mullen of Fremont, California Cherished grandfather of Libby and Billy Mullen both of Walpole Brother of Norman Mullen of VA, and the late Eunice Crowell.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral Service that will be held in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Thursday, March 6, 2008 @ 10AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park.
