Althea M. (O'Neill) Nannicelli, age 94, passed away in the Framingham Union Hospital on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 28, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Eugene F. and Mary (Molineaux) O'Neill. She was raised in Roxbury and graduated from the Jeremiah E. Burke High School with the Class of 1939. After graduation, Althea took a position as a secretary with the Boston Molasses Company.
Following the outbreak of World War II, Althea left her secretarial position to help the war effort, joining the United States Navy. She took courses at Oklahoma State College before serving as a clerk in the Judge Advocate Generals Office. She was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Yeoman 3rd Class.
Upon her return from the Navy, Althea married her husband, John J. Nannicelli on February 22, 1945 and they made their home together in Dorchester. She took on the role of a homemaker to raise and care for her family. In addition to raising her family, Althea used her natural vocal talent, and took a position with the Archdiocese of Boston, singing in various churches. In 1968, Althea and John moved their family to Medfield, where she loved playing the piano in her home. After her family was raised, she went to work in the Financial Aid Office of Boston College in the late 1970' and early 1980's. Althea spent the last 3 years as a resident of Saint Patrick's Manor in Framingham, where she enjoyed showcasing her vocal talents for other residents and staff.

Loving mother of John J. "Jay" Nannicelli, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Hollis, NH, Paul X. Nannicelli and his wife Louise of Walpole, and Althea M. Rothmeyer and her husband Jay of Narragansett, RI.
Cherished grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 11.
Devoted sister of the late Rita Reid, Robert O'Neill, Eugene O'Neill, and Paul O'Neill.
Loving sister in law of Doris O'Neill of Arlington and Marie Keezer of East Walpole.
Loving niece of the late Marguerite Molineaux.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Althea's Life Celebration on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2-4 PM in the James H. Delaney& Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole and on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 9-9:45 in the Holy Family Chapel of Saint Patrick's Manor, 863 Central Street, Framingham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Holy Family Chapel on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Saint Patrick's Manor, c/o the Carmelite Sisters, 863 Central Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
