(Cauldwell) Hart, age 91, passed away peacefully in the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood, Massachusetts on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 31, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Ryan) Cauldwell.  She spent her early years in East Boston before her family moved to Jamaica Plain, where Alma attended Jamaica Plain High School.  As a young woman, Alma took her first full time position working with Farrington’s in Boston.

Alma married her beloved husband, Cornelius F. Hart, on January 13, 1952 in Boston.  The young couple made their home in Jamaica Plain, where they welcomed their five children.  In addition to raising and caring for her family, Alma continued working in food service.  She spent thirteen years at Jack and Marion’s in Brookline and spent another thirteen years at Ken’s at Copley.  In 1969, Alma and Cornelius left the big city, moving their family to the suburban town of Norwood, Massachusetts.  In the mid-1970s, Alma took a managerial position with Harold’s Deli & Bakery in BostonChestnut Hill and Boston, where she spent thirteen dedicated years until her retirement in 1989.  Shortly after her retirement, Alma settled into her new home in Walpole, Massachusetts, to be closer to her family.

When Alma wasn’t hard at work, she loved playing Bingo with friends and taking trips to Las Vegas to try her luck at the casinos.  Back at home, she enjoyed some quiet time, reading, knitting, listening to her favorite music, and catching up on reruns of classic television shows.  Most of all, she loved being surrounded by her family, hosting them for the holidays, birthdays, and special occasions.
