Alfreda J. Smith

Mrs. Alfreda Jane "Freddie" (Cochran) Smith age 84 years died in the Caritas Norwood Hospital , Norwood, Massachusetts on Friday, March 14th, 2008. Born in Winchester, Massachusetts on December 27, 1923, the daughter of the late Harold W. and Jane (Blackler) Cochran. She had been a resident of Walpole for the past 70 years, and had graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1941.

Mrs. Smith and her husband owned a home in Gray Gables, Massachusetts for over 30 years.

A homemaker for all of her married life, she had worked at Bird & Son, Inc. before her marriage.

A member of the United Church in Walpole, where she had been in the Choir, and served on the Altar Committee and the Confirmation Committee. She was a member of the Heritage Plantation and the Thornton W. Burgess Society, a wildlife foundation in Sandwich, Massachusetts.

Beloved wife of the late William E. Smith, Jr. Sister of the late William Cochran Cousin of Connie McGonagle of Manchester, NH Sister in law of Kenneth and Dorothy Smith of Walpole and Mary Smith of Brattleboro, Vermont. also survived by many nieces and nephews including Robert Rockwood of Needham, Patricia Yonker , Thomas Rockwood, and Richard Rockwood all of Walpole

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral Service in the United Church in Walpole 32 Common St Walpole on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 @ 10AM Visiting hours are Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 4pm to 7pm in the James H.
