Alexander Joseph Koziol

March 12, 1922 — March 29, 2010

Mr. Alexander J. Koziol age 88 years died Wrentham, Massachusetts on Monday, March 29, 2010. A resident of Walpole. Born in Medway on March 12, 1922, the son of the late Alexander and Marianna Koziol. He graduated from Medway High School Class of 1940 and attended Burdett College in Boston. He entered into the United States Navy and served his country during World War II.

He was a retired Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service in White Plains, New York

Al was an outstanding baseball player at Medway High School and enjoyed some time playing for a minor league team. He was a sports enthusiast, an avid golfer, and follower of the Red Sox.

He enjoyed gardening, and reading.

Beloved husband of Cecelia (Yanco-Giandomenico) Koziol, whom he graduated high school with, and the late Carmella Koziol. Loving stepfather of Ruth (Giandomenico) Robinson and her husband John of Walpole and Jack Giandomenico and Lorraine Viall of Norwood. Cherished step-grandfather of John Robinson, Jr of Walpole, Jodi L. and Bryon Williston of Rhode Island, Brian and his wife Shelly Giandomenico of Sharon, Michelle Hutcheson of Franklin. Adored step great grandfather of Amanda, Jeremy, Dylan and Sophia Loving brother of the late Mary Kaminski and Stella McDonough, uncle of Deborah and her husband Malcolm Gibson, John and his wife Sherrie Kaminski of Millis, Carol and her husband Gene Nardini of Milford, and the late John Michael McDonough. Also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route #27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Monday , April 5th, 2010 from 3pm to 7pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park Canton. Donations in Al's memory may be made to The Pond Home 289 East Street Wrentham, Massachusetts 02093 Attn: Becky Annis, Administrator.
