Alberta Flanagan

Alberta (Bickmore) Flanagan age 96 years died in the Charlwell Nursing Home in Norwood, Massachusetts on Sunday, December 21, 2008. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts on February 7, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Liza (Sweetland) Bickmore. As a young child she was adopted by her aunt and uncle the Cynthia and Albert MacKenzie of Norwood, Massachusetts, after her parents died in an influenza epidemic. She graduated from Norwood High School with the class of 1931 and went on to attend Northeastern University. She had previously lived in Walpole for 5 years, Plymouth for 20 years, and Wayland for 30 years.

Mrs. Flanagan worked in the Jordan Marsh Department Store in Framingham for 10 years.

She was active in the Senior Center in Norwood, Massachusetts and enjoyed painting, crafts, and trips with seniors in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Mrs. Flanagan especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late John Flanagan. Loving mother of Jane P. Bailey of E. Falmouth and John P. Flanagan of Goffstown, NH. Cherished grandmother of 6 and great grandmother of 13. Pre deceased by 3 brothers and sisters. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service that will be held in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 11 AM. Visiting hours are Saturday, December 27, 2008 from 9 to 11AM. Interment will be in Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield, Massachusetts.
