Albert P. Ravinski age 86 years died in the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham,Massachusetts on Monday, March 21, 2011. Born in Norfolk, Massachusetts on April 8, 1924; he was the son of the late Felix and Frances (Lubinski) Ravinski. He graduated from Boston Trade High School with the class of 1942. He has been a life long resident of Norfolk, Massachusetts.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre of Operations and served with Company B, 38th Infantry Division that landed at Normandy, D-day +1. fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and worked his way through to Czechoslovakia. He was dischaged in 1945 as a Technical Sergeant and had earned the Purple Heart, for being wounded in France.
He was a member of the Boston Carpenter's Union for over 50 years. He also ran his own company in the Norfolk Area.
Mr. Ravinski enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was a member of the Wrentham Angler's Club, the Norfolk Trout Club, the Franklin Rod and Gun Club, and the Norfolk Golf League. In addition he was a former member of the Franklin Country Club.
He was also a member of the American Legion Post 335 in Norfolk as well as the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Ravinski was one of the founding member of Saint Jude's Church in Norfolk.
Beloved husband of Anna (Jastrzembski) Ravinski and the late Anne S. (Lyons) Ravinski. Step father of John Converse, Jr. of Pembroke, Stephen Converse of Mansfield, and Mary Ann Reynolds of Attleboro. Hunting and Fishing Buddy Robert F. Ravinski, Jr of Norfolk. Grandfather of 8 children and 8 Great Granchildren. Brother of Helen Rokicki of Norfolk, Mary Bannon of Wrentham, Irene Kazuchyk of Franklin, Sophie Swenson of Franklin, the late Edward Ravinski, the late Joseph Ravinski, the late Leacardia Schultz, the late Henry Ravinski, the late John Ravinski, the late Stanley Ravinski, and the late Robert Ravinski. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Jude's Church 86 Main Street Norfolk on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 3PM to 7PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
